We’re often asked about warranties and the like on the bikes we sell. Details can vary from one bike to the next, but here is some useful general information.

Product returns

Should you be unhappy with a purchase from our store, please return the goods with proof of purchase within 7 days for a full refund, or within 14 days for a credit note. Any items can be returned to Mud Dock Cycleworks providing they are in their original condition; in unopened packaging; and unused (unless the goods are faulty). We regret we cannot refund special orders or cycle purchases.

Parts and accessories

In case the item you have purchased is faulty or develops a fault during its warranty coverage period (the length of which varies based on manufacturer) we will either swap the item in store for the same or, if we don’t have the item in stock, issue a credit for the original amount. In some cases (such as electronic equipment and batteries) we will need to send the item back to manufacturer for testing before we can offer a replacement or credit.


Length of warranty coverage on bikes is determined by the manufacturer. This can range from 1 year to lifetime. In the event that the bike develops a fault, we will either repair or replace any faulty part under manufacturer’s guidelines.

Please note that all ex-demo and ex-display bikes have no manufacturer warranty.

What is NOT covered by a manufacturer’s warranty

• Normal wear and tear.
• Damage to products due to being improperly installed or improperly repaired.
• Products that have been modified, poorly maintained or neglected.
• Product damage from anything other than original defects in product material.
