1973 Tour de France press photos
WE LOVE THESE FRAMED ORGINAL PRESS PHOTOS TAKEN DURING 1973'S TOUR DE FRANCE AND CAPTURiNG THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THIS DEFINITIVE BIKE RACE. THEY WOULD MAKE A GREAT GIFT FOR THE CYCLING ENTHUSIAST IN YOUR LIFE (EVEN IF THAT PERSON IS YOU!).

The 1973 Tour was won by the Spaniard, Luis Ocaña, who held the Yellow Jersey from Stage 7 (quite a feat in a 20 stage race). Ocaña could be said to have deserved a Tour win after a fall in 1969 and freak storms cost him victory in 1971 and forced him to quit in 1972. In 1973, the all conquering Eddie Merckx won the Tours of Spain and Italy and, as a result, decided not to defend his Tour de France crown, thus paving the way for Ocaña to finally have his day.
