WE LOVE THIS UNIQUE SET OF Set of STYLIsED 90cm x 60cm Cycling Posters SHOWING RIDERS FROM the Discovery Channel Team. THEY WERE CREATED BY POSTER-DESIGN SUPREMO, TAVIS COBURN, AND ARE SIMPLY STUNNING.
These posters were designed to promote the Discovery Channel team's 'Race 2 Replace' event in 2006, where a race was held and the winner qualified for a place on the team.
The posters are influenced by cycling posters of years gone by and Russian political propaganda posters from first half of the last century. In such, the posters feature flat blocks of colour, areas coarse half-tone dots and an aged/distressed feel (as shown in the close up below). All of the posters are printed on thick matte paper and are far from your typical shiny-and-flimsy poster fare.
The set comprises five posters, each featuring a Discovery Channel team legend:
• Tom Danielson: “Rule #1: superheroes wear tights”
• George Hincapie: “Unfortunately, sainthood is reserved for the deceased”
• Yaroslav Popovych: “What cold war countries develop when there’s no cold war”
• Paolo Savoldelli: “Sometimes Italians sculpt out of marble. Sometimes flesh and blood”
• Viatcheslav Ekimov: “The red scare. History repeats itself”
We now only have a few posters left at £50 each. Please call us on 0117 929 2151 to check availability.
