Mud dock was
born out of disappointment with the retail experience of buying
bicycles. In almost every case, the buzz was inevitably compromised
by poor service, uninspiring atmosphere, lack of support and
the mishmash of stock in bike shops.
Since 1994 we have endeavoured to turn
this around by selling bicycles with more purpose, by creating
a complementary environment, and by employing people whose
product knowledge goes a lot further than expected.
By making life more interesting, more
inspiring and more rewarding for our customers we felt they
would be more likely to come and see us again. Ten-or-so years
on, many of our customers have become friends – with
us and with each other. Our team, our stock and our premises
have all evolved, changing with the times and with our desire
to keep the buzz that should be part of buying something as
wonderful as a brand new bicycle.
Our current bike brands include Trek,
Maverick, Santa Cruz, Merlin and Litespeed. They're not ones
you'll find everywhere – and that's partly why we like
them. The main reason we stock them, though, is that they
all make such damn fine bikes.
Well made, well specced, great to ride,
great to own bikes – together with great kit, accessories,
service and an environment and an attitude that makes coming
here a fun and positive experience – is what Mud Dock
customers have come to expect, and that's why many people
say they come back to us time and again.
Whatever the reason is that keeps old
friends keep coming back and encourages new folk continue
to seek us out, we're just very glad that they do. People
say that Mud Dock seems to have the soul that other places
lack. If that's the case it's something that everyone –
staff and customers alike – have helped to create and
have nurtured together through a collective passion for cycling
in all its forms. Very much a case of what goes around comes
around.
