Meet our new friends

WE'VE RECENTLY BECOME ACQUAINTED WITH SOME INTERESTING CHARACTERS FROM PORTUGAL. in fact, we've got to like them so much we've asked them to come and stay...

Correio de Portugal winesFirst up, we'd like to introduce you to the Correio de Portugal family. Correio de Portugal Tinto, Branco and Rosé provide an interesting counterpoint to our other house wines, the ever-popular Mud Dock Red and Mud Dock White (which are both from France).

Tinto is dark red in colour and boasts ripe fruit flavours; Branco is a delicious, lemony golden coloured white wine; and Rosé is a fresh wine with gentle raspberry and strawberry flavours.

We've chosen these silver-medal winning wines for their subtle, easy drinking characteristics – and the fact that Tras os Montes (the area in which they're produced) is famous for the locals' love of great wine and wholesome food: very Mud Dock!

Terraço do Tejo

Next, also from Portugal, is the superb Terraço do Tejo red and the equally excellent Terraço do Tejo white. The award winning red has a silver medal at the 2006 International Wine Challenge in London among its accolades. It has raspberry, light vanilla and coffee aromas; a soft, velvety taste with elegant tanins; and is ideal with meat or pasta. The white has a fruity aroma with hints of melon. It tastes soft and fresh – and is the perfect accompaniment to fish.
